On the Relationship between Mammary , Sweat , and Sebaceous Glands
نویسنده
چکیده
I . Stages are described in the development of the mammae of male rabbits responding to regular injections of oestrogen and progesterone. 2. It is suggested that the extra mammary lobes which develop under this treatment are derived from hair follicles and sebaceous glands by the loss of the hairs from the follicles and the proliferation of sebaceous glands and ducts. 3. This may throw light on the phylogenetic origin and homology of the mammary gland.

T H E Relationship of Malignant Amelanotic Melanoma (naevocarcinoma) to Extramammary Paget’s Disease
Ever since Sir James Paget first described the disease of the nipple named after him and remarked that he had seen a lesion clinically resembling it on the glans penis, followed by cancer, reputed cases of extramammary Paget’s disease have been sporadically reported and their nature discussed. The debate has been ancillary to the related question of the nature of Paget’s disease, which is still...
متن کاملPmg-1 and Pmg-2 constitute a novel family of KAP genes differentially expressed during skin and mammary gland development
The epidermis, by invagination of the undifferentiated ectodermal cells, gives rise to several distinct structures including hair, sebaceous, eccrine sweat and mammary glands. We have recently isolated a novel gene, pmg-1, expressed in the pubertal mouse mammary gland. While investigating its genomic structure, we identified a related gene in close proximity, which we have termed pmg-2. pmg-1 a...
متن کاملImmunohistochemical detection of ras oncogene p21 product in benign and malignant mammary tissue in man.
The monoclonal antibody RAP-5 generated against a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid positions 10-17 of the ras p21 protein was used in an immunohistochemical study of the expression of ras in normal, benign, and malignant breast epithelium in man. The staining intensity and intracellular distribution of RAP-5 was similar in the three epithelial populations and extended to other tiss...

Neoplastic lesions of the skin are among the most common human malignancies. They originate from different skin tissues and structures such as: epidermis skin appendages (hair follicles, sebaceous glands, eccrine sweat glands, apocrine sweat glands) pigment cells (melanocytes) mesenchymal structures (fibrous tissue, fatty tissue, blood and lymphatic vessels, muscles) nerves and APUD c...
